Rob Cooney founded Preferred Painting in 1992 with a simple philosophy: do great work, treat people right, and the business will follow. That philosophy hasn't changed since — and neither has the team's commitment to it.
Under Chris Miller's leadership as President, we've grown from a painting-only contractor to a full-service commercial surfaces company. In 2024 we acquired Stonetec, adding concrete polishing, stone restoration, and specialty surface capabilities, including terrazzo, polished and stained concrete, and marble and granite cleaning and sealing.

We charge what we quoted
Fixed-price quotes, period. No surprise change orders, no scope creep billed at the end. What we quote is what you pay, unless you ask us to do something different.
We leave it cleaner
End-of-day cleanup is not optional. Drop cloths, masking, overspray — all gone before we leave. Your tenants should barely know we were there.
